As of 5pm yesterday, I am now the owner of a first class Creative Writing and English Language degree! *yippee!*
The best bit is that this was an absolute surprise and completely unintentional. I remember a meeting I had with my personal tutor last October at the start of the academic year when she’d kindly suggested I was capable of pushing for a first but I had quickly declined, making it clear that I would be more than happy with a 2.1 and didn’t want to put too much pressure on myself (particularly after an unexpectedly stressful second year!).
Little did I know that nine months later, I’d have underestimated myself completely and achieved a first after completing perhaps what has been my favourite year of university yet!
Congratulations to all those who have or are receiving results soon!
